2. What we collect and why

Newsletter

The signup boxes on this site are provided by Substack. When you subscribe, Substack collects your email address and runs the newsletter under its own terms and privacy policy.

Speaking inquiries, program inquiries and bulk book orders

When you send one of these forms, we collect the details you enter, such as your name, work email, organization, event details, country, quantity and message. We use them only to reply to your inquiry and, if you go ahead, to arrange the talk, program or order.

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

3. Lawful basis

  • Newsletter: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.
  • Inquiries: steps taken at your request before a possible contract, and our legitimate interest in replying to you.

4. Who sees your data

René Bohnsack and the Zero to 100 team who schedule talks and reply to inquiries.

Service providers that process data on our behalf:

  • Substack, for the newsletter.
  • Lovable and its infrastructure providers, which host this website and its database, including form submissions.
  • Our email provider, when we reply to you.

5. Transfers outside Europe

Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area, mainly in the United States. Where your data leaves the European Economic Area, it is protected by the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. How long we keep data

  • Inquiries and bulk order requests: 24 months after our last contact with you, then deleted.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. Substack keeps its own records under its privacy policy.

7. Your rights under the GDPR

You have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you
  • have it corrected
  • have it deleted
  • restrict how we use it
  • object to how we use it
  • receive it in a portable format
  • withdraw your consent at any time
  • complain to a supervisory authority: in Estonia, the Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, www.aki.ee), or the authority in the country where you live.

8. Cookies and embedded content

This site uses no analytics or advertising cookies. The Substack signup box may set its own cookies. The TEDx video on the Speaking page is embedded from YouTube and may set its own cookies when it loads.

The book preview is provided by Google Books and loads only when you click "Peek inside". Google may then set its own cookies.

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
